Journal Introduction

Journal of Social Sciences and Interdisciplinary Research (JSSIR) is a refereed, bi- annual journal of the Department of Humanities, NED University of Engineering and Technology. The journal acts as a forum for social scientists and researchers to investigate and discuss issues confronting societies both local and global. The scientific investigations about social phenomena in different contexts and areas of human interaction is an attempt to create awareness about the central issues confronting societies and to suggest solutions that are based on theoretical, methodological or empirical research findings. The social sciences research is imperative in improving our immediate and larger environments; and the interdisciplinary focus enables capturing complex issues more holistically through the knowledge in a variety of subject areas that would expand the horizons while looking for plausible explanations, implications and proposed remedy.

AIMS AND SCOPE JSSIR aims to publish original and unpublished scholarly contributions based on both theoretical and applied studies in the areas of humanities, social sciences, and interdisciplinary perspectives linking with social sciences. It attempts to encourage and promote interdisciplinary dialogue and research across social sciences and even beyond. The journal in each issue through the articles and other categories of contributions intends to deal with different subjects and themes; offering greater diversity to its readers and authors, and advocates expanding frontiers of knowledge beyond the borders of one’s individual discipline. The journal provides a forum to scholars, educators, researchers and all others concerned with social sciences to share their intellectual discourse or empirical investigations, or to comment on a significant contemporary issue or idea through different sections of JSSIR - Articles, Forum, Comment, Book Reviews and Abstracts.

EDITORIAL POLICYThe submissions made to JSSIR undergo strict editorial/review process. All papers appearing in the Articles section are selected after double- blind review process by at least two referees, preferably one local and the other from outside the country. The author(s), who are interested to publish with JSSIR, are considered to have accepted the editorial principles.

PUBLICATION FREQUENCY/ SCHEDULE AND FORMAT: JSSIR publishes its regular issues in June and December each year. Besides two regular issues, special thematic issues will occasionally be printed on significant social sciences and interdisciplinary issues. The journal iscurrently published in Print format only.

INDEXING and ABSTRACTING: JSSIR is HEC Recognized Journal and is included in the list of recognized journals since January 2016. JSSIR is indexed in the Ulrich's Periodicals Directory, EBSCO HOST- USA, Library of Congress, and PASTIC Database.
